A little late, but this was my "holiday" card this year. Just a super quick ink job with flat color. On the inside of the cards I did personalized apocalypse comments like: "Maybe it will be like Mad Max! You bring the guns and we'll build the Thunderdome!" That sort of silliness. ;)

December 21st Bak'Tun
Thursday, December 20, 2012
As a life long celebrator of Chrismukkah and regular illustrator of Seasonal Holiday Cards sometimes my work has a more direct reference to specific Holiday imagery. In this case I went with two feelings or activities I have this time of year. It still captures the Holiday spirit to me; and Secular Half-Jew.

SPLINTER!
My all time favorite versions of TMNT was Michael Zulli's run set in feudal Japan. The Turtles were demons summoned by Splinter with black magic. Ever since, I've thought of him as more of a manipulative force as opposed to the good mentor. Everything he has the Ninja Turtles do is to reach his own goal of revenge.
and yes, I have returned to the internet, don't worry I haven't been just wasting time, there's a big announcement coming soon..

If you don't want to use photoshop, you can always just draw TMNT on your face! :)
Didn't you know it was a meme?

The Last Circus
Happy new year!!
Watched "The Last Circus" over the holidaze and it was probably the best movie I saw out of the half dozen or so movies I watched during vacation. The ultimate "clowns after midnight" movie. Not for the faint however.
Here is the trailer.
Not too happy with the proportions but charcoal is fun on recycled rough sketch paper. Why does it have to be so hard to sharpen charcoal pencils?
