Round Eleven - Giant Robot Dragon (and Round Four)

This is a rough robot I plan on adding some color to at some point. Also a flashback to an earlier round with Mary Prankster. I don't know if Mary makes the best poster child for excess but her big breakthrough hit was called "Tits and Whiskey".

Showed this blog to a friend (Matt Paradigm) a few weeks ago and in response to the Rock n' Roll excess challenge he sketched Hank Williams III (country excess?) in my sketchbook. I inked it a few days ago and scanned it today.

Not sure if that is breaking the rules but oh well.

Here is a pic of Syd at Abbey Road studios, 5th June 1974. He had stopped by to say hi to his old bandmates, Pink Floyd, who were recording "Wish You Here" at the time. His old friends barely recognized him after 5 years absence . . .

Here is another one started at work (30 min) and finished in Photoshop (30 min). I’m having a lot of fun with these! I’ve been in an artistic rut for a long time where I wasn’t having much fun drawing at all. This is bringing the fun back to drawing for me.

It was really slow at the day job today, so I started drawing. Came home scanned it into Photoshop and played around with it.
