I had some free time so I figured I’d pop another one out. It started as a sketch at work then I decided to scan it in and practice my photoshop coloring. Frank’s colors came out too muddy for my taste.

scott so powerfull...i would retaliate but...have actual art job for once....Frankenstein's monster is looking a little dull color wise for you but I still think this is great stuff..

ReplyDeleteHow are you guys "inking" in photoshop? Love the monster and bride. Almost looks like ballpoint ink.
ReplyDeleteIt is ballpoint. I started off with a ballpoint sketch I did at work, then scaned it into photoshop. Then I usually put down a ground color (on a layer beneath the line drawing), then i use the pencil tool with it's transparency reduced to usually around 35% and start painting with the Wacom. Another thing to note, I set the ballpoint drawing layer to Multiply, and use the layer underneath to do most of the painting. I will also have a layer on top of the line drawing so I can paint over the ballpoint lines, it kinda blends all the layers together.
